Shahed 123 (177d0d05-9c7a-5b42-9a10-4969cf48bfef)

The Shahed 123 is an Iranian‑produced reconnaissance UAV developed by Iran Aircraft Manufacturing Company (HESA) as a reverse‑engineered copy of the Israeli Elbit Hermes 450. Featuring a V‑shaped tail, rear piston engine and an under‑body optical assembly, the drone can operate up to 750 km from its launch point. First flown in Isfahan in 2005 and entering mass production in 2009, the Shahed 123 is an advanced variant of the earlier HESA 100 and precedes the larger Shahed 129. It has been employed by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps for intelligence‑gathering missions, notably capturing imagery of a U.S. military installation in the region.
