MQ-27B Scan Eagle (b189836f-c922-5f91-b6a5-53b3e84ea5bf)

The Boeing Insitu MQ‑27 ScanEagle is a lightweight, long‑endurance UAV designed for tactical intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (ISR) across land and maritime domains. Built by Insitu, a Boeing subsidiary, the platform operates without a runway, launching from a pneumatic “SuperWedge” catapult and retrieving via the Skyhook rope‑catch system. Its 3.1 m wingspan and 1.5 hp two‑stroke engine enable 20‑plus hours of flight at speeds up to 80 knots, carrying electro‑optical/infrared payloads, and, when required, a NanoSAR synthetic‑aperture radar or Sentient ViDAR wide‑area maritime detection suite. Deployed by the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and more than 30 allied forces, ScanEagle provides persistent, low‑observable situational awareness for naval, expeditionary and littoral operations.
